Band Trip 2010: Day 2 Boarding the Ship
Jan 22nd
Well we are off to see for three days official. It was a long and rather annoying process getting onto the boat going through customs, and than Carnivals horrid handling of a group as large as our band. Good thing we got on and got a good lunch. We than had the day to hang out, which we did on the waterslides and than the saltwater pool which was amazing. We than went to the mustered Drill, and than got to see the boat leave port. We dressed for dinner and departed for the nightly band meeting. Dinner was good and I was impressed by the food, a three course meal, daring for those not feeling the effects of the first couple hours at sea. We than changed yet again to get ready for the night show in the Fantasa lounge, an 80s spin which was just good enough to make many sing and dance along. After that we spent the rest of the night hanging out on the lido deck, at the front of the boat which was amazingly windy but very fun to play tag and just chill with a certain someone. We are now back in our closet I mean room and we are getting ready for sleep and than Nassua tomorrow for a performance, and beach frisbee.
Pictures soon,
Max
Band Trip 2010: Day 0-1 Bus to Sea World
Jan 21st
Well all started without a hitch of the Baldwin Highlander Marching Band Trip 2010. We packed up the buses and left on time, the bus ride down was pretty uneventful leading to a rather boring 22 hours of sitting around watching bad movies, and trying ( and failing) at sleeping. Wednesday morning we ate at the breakfast buffet at Shoney’s and than got back on the buses to travel to a rest stop to freshing up and change. Than another hour we were at Sea World. Sea World was fun, we saw the Shamu show, which pretty entertaining and reminds us all of our inner child in the beliefs of dreams. We than rode the Kraken Coaster. A short line, long ride, which wasn’t bad but wasn’t the best. Now I do have to say that the best ride we rode was the manta coaster. The Manta Coaster was a suspended coaster, but with a twist you are hoisted up laying down and get to sore over the world. We rode in the front the first time which was an interesting ride. Than going through the Manta aquarium we were given a tip by a Sea World worker that the back of the Cart was the fastest, and best ride on the Manta. So we proceeded to do this and boy was she right it was a great ride that I wish I could have ridden more times than I could. We than got a bite to eat, and went to the Sea Lion/Walrus show. The Sea Lions were very well trained but unfortunately the show was not the best I have seen. Now I’m sure many have said in the Band the Walrus reminded us of a certain someone. Than we proceeded to leave and go to the buses to depart for the hotel for a night before we board the Carnival Sensation tomorrow morning. I will post again later tonight.
So check out the pics of the day here
